First Friday Walk Returns

With the return of cooler and hopefully calmer weather, ILR resumes its First Friday Walk series. This is a show and go social event meeting at 10:00 AM on the first Friday of each month to walk in the Virginia Beach Story by the Sea neighborhood. Dogs are welcome and encouraged. Dangerous weather cancels.

The Story By the Sea neighborhood is on the south side of Shore Drive east of Great Neck Road. The neighborhood features a mix of original cottages and modern homes, quiet streets, a linear park, tidal creeks, and pleasant neighbors. We meet in the car park behind the Food Lion and amble out at 10:15 to give everybody a chance to park and chat a bit. The pace is leisurely and much of the neighborhood is sheltered from wind and sun.

2015-2016 Photo Album Posted

Historian Bill Moyse has gathered together our 2015-2016 ILR photos here. This link takes you to our Photo Albums page. There, individual links take you to each year’s photo album at ILR’s Google Photos. Bill, our Historian, has done an excellent job taking event photos and curating them for our albums.

If you have ILR photos you would like considered for inclusion in ILR’s archives and albums, you can sent them to Bill’s historian’s Email, historian@oduilr.org

First Friday Dog Walk Takes a Break

The July heat discouraged most of our member and hounds Crash, Missy, and Nick wilted as Judy  Schooley and Dave Hamby walked them in the Story by the Sea Neighborhood in July 4 weekend heat and humidity. Given that August will be hot and September 1 is the start of Labor Day weekend, Judy and Dave have wisely decided to suspend the walk series for August and September. Regular walks will resume on October 6.

2017 Member Luncheon
